CD cover creative task
CD Cover Activity
Now that you've completed research into existing CD Album covers, choose a music artist that you like and create the CD cover artwork for a new release. Even though most people stream music the artwork is still very important.
You need to invent the title of the album and decide on the style of CD cover you are going to make.
- Choose THREE colours. One for the background, one for the name of your artist and one for the name of your album. Put these onto a word document and explain why you have chosen these colours (do they fit your musical genre? do they have connotations which an audience would like? are they easily recognisable? etc).
- Choose THREE images of your artist from the internet that you'd like to use on your CD cover. Put these onto a word document and explain why you have chosen these images (do you like the clothes your artist is wearing? do you like the style of the photograph? do you like the facial expression your artist has? etc)

Why doesn't it look quite right?
In really, really basic terms, design is about symmetry. Try
and imagine your CD cover is divided equally into thirds, in 2 of these thirds
something 'different' should be happening to the remaining third. Try and align
yours along these principles.
