CD Cover - Evaluation

Image
You need to answer the following questions in as much detail as possible.  How effective was your research into similar CD covers? (Did you take the research seriously enough? Did you look at a wide range of existing examples?) What did you learn from your research? In what ways did this shape the creation of your CD cover? (Think about images, colour palettes, fonts). What creative decisions did you have to make at the different stages of your CD cover creation? How did your CD cover change as your work progressed? (What worked and didn't work?) How closely does your CD cover follow the forms and conventions of existing CD covers?  Does it look real? (Why or why not?) What are its strengths and weaknesses?

CD cover creative task

CD Cover Activity Now that you've completed research into existing CD Album covers, choose a music artist that you like and create the CD cover artwork for a new release. Even though most people stream music the artwork is still very important. Use word or publisher to do this. TASK 2 - Think about how you want your artist to be represented. Underneath your mood-board, explain how and why you will represent your artist. What did you find from your mood-board that you will include in your work and how will you do this? TASK 3 - Begin designing your CD cover using the checklist below  Choose THREE colours. One for the background, one for the name of your artist and one for the name of your album. Put these onto a word document and explain why you have chosen th...

CD cover research task

Your task is to research CD cover/ album (vinyl) cover art. Pick three or four music artists that you like and research the artwork (only album cover art is permitted) that accompanies their musical releases.  Google the artists name and look for their discography on wikipedia. Save examples of their work and make a document that displays them effectively. Answer the following questions for each piece of artwork: What works best about the image that has been selected? Why has that particular image been selected and what is effective about it? How is the artist being represented in the artwork? What colours (colour palette) have been used? What effect do the colours have on the overall piece of artwork? What type of font has been used?  What is so effective about the fonts chosen? How would you make the cover better?
